My mummy is golden!

Princess sent me a birthday card. It took a week (I checked the postmark) and N330 (I added the value of the stamps). I am glad to see that something actually still works in Nija believe me Nipost not dropping the ball is something worth celebrating especially seeing that the 'cargo' is so precious. I don't think I have fawned more over pieces of paper. I guess knowing they came from so far away, that Princess and Bee touched them (yes I miss them) and that Princess didn't wait for someone coming over to deliver them (like I did last year although posting them just goes to show how old school she is) is making me all sentimental, a tear escaped my eye when I recognised her handwriting on the envelope. I miss my mummy

I did have a wonderful day, I don't know if it was quiet though my phone was ringing of the hook, IM was buzzing, Outlook was dinging I never felt so surrounded while sitting alone in my apartment. It was nice, the feeling

Hmmm, mummy's girl if ever I've seen one.

True, mail from Nigeria via Nipost usually arrives, can't vouch for the reverse though.

au contraire, my friend sent my BMW Manual by mail to me in naija like 3 yrs ago. The thing sat in the post office in Marina for like 6 months they sent several notices to me finally one of them made it through and I went to collect my manual it was all intact in the amazon.com packaging. Recently a friend sent her brother a suit, shirt and pair of shoes by mail to naija, she has his graduation pictures to prove that he got the package in a timely manner.

Happy belated bday! Hope it was everything you wanted it to be!

I frequently receive packages (yes, not letters, but packages) from my mom in Abuja. She is forever sending my kids clothes, shoes, toys, books, you name it!

I do however wonder whether sending things from here will reach her or any of my family members. Though I notice your response to mochafella, I will confess that I am not yet convinced. lol!
